Can you talk about the development of Raylen Wilson so far?
Raylen's one of the fastest Front 7 in this past draft. He's a rocket out there, running from sideline to sideline. He has a lot of things to work on though. His pass coverage in general though needs work. We hope with through training camps and a fast start will make him impactful come playoff time.
I want to ask you about the receiver position in general. How have you seen that position evolve in importance over the years and how does having a player like WR Terry McLaurin sort of factor into that perspective?
Terry is incredible to watch on Sundays. He's the type of guy that terrorizes cornerbacks and always requires safety's attention. As a coach, he makes you feel spoiled a little bit. Being able to fully trust a receiver on 3rd and long to go get a ball. I'm sure Sam would agree having someone like him as a weapon makes you look a lot better. Let's not forget Troy Franklin in this equation. After leading the team in receiving last season, he's really proving to be one of, if not the best, secondary receiver in the league.
How do you see the competition level in the NFC East currently?
In my opinion, it's a 3 way race until I'm proven wrong. Last year we were out of the division race by week 6. We have to have a better start in the NFC East and it starts Week 1 with the New York Giants. We swept them last season, but they have proved to be dangerous in previous seasons. #1 overall pick Archie Manning will debut against our Washington defense. We hope it's an ugly one. The Cowboys won the division last season. We've had success against them in past seasons, but we really need to just focus on starting fast. We need to sweep Philly this year if we want any chance to win the division. No more Derrick Henry could help, but the Eagles increased depth at some needed positions. It should be a legendary season 5.
