Super Bowl LXI Recap

Green Bay Brings the Lombardi Home (GB 42, LV 38)

In a Super Bowl defined by explosive offense, relentless pressure, and zero margin for error, the Green Bay Packers outlasted the Las Vegas Raiders 42–38 to capture the Lombardi Trophy — finishing a playoff run that tested every part of their identity.

This wasn’t a comfortable win.
It was a championship earned the hard way.

A GAME THAT NEVER SLOWED DOWN

From the opening drive, it was clear this Super Bowl would be played at full speed.

Las Vegas struck early through the air, while Green Bay responded with balance and precision. Neither defense could fully impose its will, turning the game into a possession-by-possession chess match where execution mattered more than scheme.

By halftime, the scoreboard reflected what the field showed: two offenses trading punches, with neither willing to blink.

JORDAN LOVE DELIVERS ON THE BIGGEST STAGE

When the moment demanded leadership, Jordan Love answered.

Jordan Love – 27/38 • 369 yards • 5 passing TDs • 2 INTs

Jordan Love was the definition of aggressive, repeatedly attacking matchups and keeping Green Bay in scoring position throughout the night. Five passing touchdowns in a Super Bowl is not a hot streak — it’s composure under the championship lights.

Despite two interceptions, Love never lost control of the game. Each Raiders score was met with an answer, and each critical third-down moment was handled with confidence.

A historic Super Bowl performance.

OFFENSIVE BALANCE WINS THE DAY

While the passing game carried the headlines, Green Bay’s balance quietly tilted the game.

Team offensive totals

  • 500 total yards
  • 362 passing yards
  • 138 rushing yards
  • 83.3% red-zone touchdown rate (5 TDs on 6 trips)

The rushing attack, led by Nick Singleton (88 yards, 1 TD), punished lighter box formations and helped keep the Raiders honest. Every productive run forced Las Vegas to defend the entire playbook — opening space for explosive plays downfield.

RECEIVERS STEP UP WHEN IT MATTERED MOST

This championship was not won by one target, Love spread the rock around, hitting seven different targets:

Key receiving performances

  • Jayden Reed: 5 rec • 60 yards • 2 TDs
  • Matthew Golden: 4 rec • 50 yards • TD
  • Christian Watson: 2 rec • 25 yards • TD
  • Savion Williams: 5 rec • 89 yards
  • Tucker Kraft: 4 rec • 73 yards

Reed’s two touchdowns, including the game winning score delivered momentum swings that shifted control back to Green Bay. Williams provided consistent chunk plays, while the tight ends exploited mismatches when coverage tilted outside.

When Las Vegas adjusted, Green Bay countered — again and again.

DEFENSE BENDS, BUT HOLDS WHEN IT COUNTS

Las Vegas came in prepared to score — and they did.

Raiders offensive output

  • 319 total yards
  • 4 passing TDs
  • 66.7% third-down conversion

The Packers limited catastrophic plays, forced longer drives, and delivered stops that preserved momentum — including two crucial late-game defensive stands that allowed the offense to seal the result.

In a Super Bowl shootout, perfection is unrealistic.
Timing is everything and Green Bay found it.

THE FINAL SEQUENCE

Late in the fourth quarter, with the Packers down by 3, Jeremy Chinn delivered what appeared to be the dagger, jumping the flat route and taking it back for a house call. With the Raiders seemingly putting the nail in the coffin, Green Bay did what championship teams do, they prevailed.

Mr. Toyotathon came back on the field and put forth a surgical drive to cut the lead back to three and take their backs off the ropes. It was now the defense's time to stand on business and they did just that. Forcing the Raiders into a third and long, Allar had no choice but to air it out but the Packers’ secondary had them on straps.

The Cheeseheads got one final chance to fulfill their destiny. Jordan Love and the offense went right back to work executing the perfect two minute drill. The Pack drove the ball into a goal to go situation with less than 30 seconds to go. Using their signature RPO scheme, Love dumped the ball off to Jayden Reed who broke a key tackle behind the line of scrimmage and walked his way across the plane for the game winning touchdown.

When the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read 42–38, officially bringing the Lombardi back where it belongs. Green Bay didn’t stumble back into history. They claimed it.
