What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?
We faced the Vikings in the playoffs last season and we won by letting them make mistakes then capitalizing on those mistakes. We went in with the same gameplan and it worked perfectly. We caused 7 turnovers and didn't turn the ball over. We do have to do a better job because having a +7 turnover difference and only winning by 8 is not a good sign. We played a little too conservative.
Can you talk about the development of Darnell Washington so far?
Since the injury of Godwin (3 weeks) he has put up 150 out of his 375 yards and scored 2 of his 2 TDs on the season. He has stepped up in absence of Godwin and we could have not asked for more out of our 22 year old rookie. He's our "do it all" player. He blocks well while also showing he can be a receiving threat. Looking forward to see how he performs the rest of the season.
What are your thoughts about the Vikings just in general as a team?
I think they're a team who COULD compete now, but they're having some identity issues. In the last 12 games (including wildcard playoff game) they have had THREE different starting QBs. 4 out of the 12 games they have thrown 4 or more picks, 3 games of 5 or more, and 2 games of 6 INTs. I think once Coach Ceo realizes it isn't the QBs and is instead his playcalling mistakes he then will have success.
