Eagles Rookie Update (A Quarter Left)

Three fourths of the season has come and gone and the Eagles had one of the better overall draft classes in terms of the number of hits picked compared to the number of picks they had. We are going to look over each of the rookies’ current statistics and see how  they are doing compared to earlier this season.

Round 1-Pick 26: TE Coltson Loveland (76) 83 OVR

Loveland has continued his fantastic season, nearly doubling every statistical category since the last time we checked in on him. He has proven that he was needed in this offense and as helped the team score over 30 points per game. In a normal season he would be in the running for offensive rookie of the year, but with other teams stat padding their rookies he will have no shot at that title. He could be one of the top tight ends in the NFC and secure a berth in the pro bowl game.

Round 2-Pick 26: HB Nicholas Singleton 74 (80) OVR 

Singleton should have been the starter for the entire season. After being thrusted into the starting role, he has racked up the yardage and the touchdowns. He is only 301 yards from having a 1000 yard rushing season and that is with him not playing in the first four games. Even when Barkley came back earlier in the season, Singleton has stayed as the starter because of how great he is playing. He wont winning any awards this season, however, had he started since the beginning he could have. Nonetheless, what was a novelty pick, has become the face of the franchise going forward.

Round 3-Pick 14: MLB Deontae Lawson (75) 77 OVR 

Lawson has been hurt this season which is one of the reasons he has progressed as much as he could have but in the limited time that he has played, he has shown flashes of greatness. He has 4 sacks on the season and will look to get more next season when he is put into a starting role.

Round 3-Pick 17: C Jonah Monheim (71) 74 OVR 

He still hasn't played but was given his 10 points and it has boosted his overall which will help in a starting role next season.

Round 3-Pick 26: ROLB Nick Jackson (73) 74 OVR

He hasn't played but will be getting 10 points injected into him so I can see him going up 1-2 overall by the end of the season.  

Round 4-Pick 6: LG Dylan Fairchild (71) 74 OVR 

Like Monheim, he hasn’t played this season but has gotten 10 points put into him as he looks to start next season.

Round 4-Pick 24: RE Dani Dennis-Sutton (73) 76 OVR

Sutton hasn't started or done much this season but he was given attribute points and looks to be one of the better rookie defensive ends. He will get a starting job next season and look to have a breakout sophomore season.

Round 4-Pick 26: LOLB David Bailey (73) 74 OVR

He is a 74 overall backup which will help in the case of injury.

Round 6-Pick 9: QB DJ Uiagalelei 67 OVR 

He had  a great preseason and was listed as the third quarterback on the roster. Due to injuries with the rest of the roster, he was forced to the practice squad where he will stay. In hindsight this was a mistake as he should be the backup quarterback and we lost his 4 year contract by putting him on the practice squad. He hasn't been focused and will stay at his current overall.
